terms and CONDITIONS
Payment Terms
Full payment is required no later than 14 days prior to the event date.
Failure to make payment in full by this date will be considered a breach of contract and may result in cancellation of the booking at the discretion of Fancy Neighbour.
All payments must be made via one of the accepted methods stated on your invoice (bank transfer, Stripe, or another approved payment option).
Payment is only deemed received once the full amount has cleared into Fancy Neighbour’s nominated bank account or through an authorised payment gateway as specified on the invoice.
A booking is confirmed only once both the deposit payment and written acceptance (email or signed quote) are received.
Non-Payment and Cancellation
Fancy Neighbour reserves the right to cancel any booking if full payment has not been received by the due date stated on the invoice.
In such cases, any deposit paid will be forfeited, and the client will remain liable for any non-recoverable costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.
Fancy Neighbour may, at its sole discretion, refund a portion of the deposit as a gesture of goodwill, less any costs or losses already incurred.
Fancy Neighbour accepts no responsibility for any additional costs incurred by the client as a result of cancellation, including venue or vendor fees.
Withholding of Goods
No hire items will be released, delivered, or made available for collection until the total balance due on the invoice has been paid in full and cleared.
Proof of payment or remittance advice will not be accepted in place of cleared funds.
Until such payment is received, Fancy Neighbour reserves the right to withhold delivery, cancel the booking, or reallocate the items to other clients.
Ownership of the hire items does not transfer to the client under any circumstances.
Renter’s Responsibilities
Responsibility for the rental items remains with the customer from the time the items are collected or delivered (including if held by the customer’s chosen venue) until they are returned and accepted by Fancy Neighbour.
Rental items are not to be used by any third party.
Items must be stored in a secure, weather-protected area and not left outdoors overnight.
The customer agrees not to clean or repair items without written consent from Fancy Neighbour.
please refer to Fancy Neighbour’s care Policy for additional information for renter’s responsibles.
Order Changes
All orders must be finalised 14 days before the event date.
Date or time changes are subject to availability and may incur an administration fee.
Order Cancellations
If the event is cancelled more than 14 days before the scheduled delivery, 40 % of the invoice total will be retained by Fancy Neighbour to cover costs and expenses already incurred.
If cancellation occurs within 14 days of the event, 100 % of the invoice total (excluding transport/service/other fees) will be retained by Fancy Neighbour.
Rental Period
The rental period refers to the dates/times of hire as agreed at booking and listed on your invoice.
Any changes to delivery or collection times may incur additional costs.
Condition of Items
Fancy Neighbour maintains its rental collection to a high standard, with regular inspections to remove any stock not meeting quality expectations.
Because our collection includes tableware and linen, minor signs of prior use may be visible.
Upon return, items are inspected by Fancy Neighbour to confirm they are in the same condition as supplied.
Unless proven otherwise, our inspection is deemed final and accurate.
Damage, Breakage & Missing Items
If any items are lost, damaged, or broken, the customer will be charged the replacement value at current retail cost or for a comparable item.
The replacement cost will be deducted from the customer’s bond.
If the damage exceeds the bond amount, an invoice will be issued for the remaining balance, payable within 7 days.
The bond will be refunded within 7 days of valid bank details being provided, less any deductions for loss or damage.
Liability & Limit of Responsibility
Fancy Neighbour accepts no responsibility for injury to any person or damage to any property resulting from the hire or use of our items.
Fancy Neighbour shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including event delays, disruption, or costs incurred due to circumstances beyond our control.
Force Majeure
Fancy Neighbour shall not be held liable or deemed in breach of contract for any delay or failure to perform obligations due to causes beyond its reasonable control — including but not limited to adverse weather, illness, transportation delays, or government restrictions.
In such circumstances, Fancy Neighbour will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer alternative arrangements where possible.
